Rug Hooking is the only full-color, internationally read magazine devoted exclusively to the subject of hand-hooked rugs.  In addition to publishing five issues of the magazine a year, the staff also creates the book series A Celebration of Hand-Hooked Rugs and other ancillary products intended to further promote this fiber art.

Each issue of Rug Hooking contains feature articles and departments that teach a variety of lessons on dyeing, color planning, design, hooking techniques, rug hooking history, and more. The features cover topics ranging from the development of American Indian motifs in hooked rugs to how to hook Christmas ornaments. In addition, each issue of Rug Hooking features reviews of new and classic books and videos; a comprehensive engagement calendar; profiles of rug hooking schools, exhibits, and special events; questions answered by expert rug hookers; and descriptions of the newest supplies and services. Their newest column, The Loop, lists rug hookers looking for others in their hometown.

These subscribers are mature, financially comfortable and well educated.  Most dabble in a variety of fiber arts and crafts and look to the mail as their chief source for materials and equipment.   Average household income is $55,000; median age 52; most are college educated, travel frequently and own their own homes.
