Since 1923 the Missionary Oblates have          
ministered to the needs of Native Americans.    
Currently the Oblates work on two reservations -
in Sisseton, South Dakota and White Earth,      
Minnesota.  The ministry includes care of rural 
parishes, outreach services and religious       
education.  While ministering to both Native    
Americans and non-Native Americans, the Oblates 
emphasize helping the Native American people    
retain their traditions and heritage.  The      
Oblates' Tekakwitha Indian Missions supports    
this ministry.
